911 Operator: “911 how can I help you?”

Taxpayer: “We have a home invasion going on, please send the Police! I’m in the closet and they don’t know I’m here. They are beating up my partner, I think they have guns.”

911 Operator: “We can do that, but I see your Interdiction Authorization and Waiver of Liability Agreement has not been executed. Effective January 1, 2022, all interdiction engagements require an Interdiction Authorization and Waiver of Liability Agreement.”

Taxpayer: “I don’t know anything about that, I thought my partner took care of that.”

911 Operator: “We do not have anything on file for this address. Would like me text you the link to execute the agreement online?”

Taxpayer: “Please just send the police, this is an emergency! They are searching the rooms and I’m afraid they’re going to find me!”

911 Operator: “Have you engaged a private security contractor? Many people are doing that these days for personal security.”

Taxpayer: “No, we can’t afford that! Please send the police!”

911 Operator: “I’m sorry but without the signed Interdiction Authorization and Waiver of Liability Agreement the best we can do is dispatch a Domestic Event Manager to your address. They will come to your address and attempt to engage the intruders with a bull horn from the street. Would you like me to dispatch a Domestic Event Manager to this location?”

Taxpayer: Gunshots, Screams

911 Operator: Hello? Hello? OK, I have dispatched a Domestic Event Manager to this location, they should be there in five minutes.

Taxpayer: Silence.
